P.E.E.R Study

The P.E.E.R. Study or Peers’ Emotional Engagement in Race is a mobile cell phone study that examines the everyday emotions that arise when Black youth experience racial discrimination. In addition, we understand the importance of support from peers and recognize that shared cultural values and experiences between Black youth might influence their decision-making. Our primary aim is to understand how Black youth might navigate racial discrimination experiences and support each other’s emotional development goals. We will be accepting participants soon.

YPAR + Resistive Transformation

Youth are experts in their experiences! In the YPAR + resistive transformation study we worked alongside youth to engage in conversation about their experiences as students and learn about the history of school discipline policies that disproportionately excludes Black youth.

Youth Health Equity Study

To better understand access to mental health treatment and services for adolescents in Indiana, we interviewed families about their experiences with mental health providers. This study is now closed.
